Between September 11th and October 17th of 2001, members of the Long Island State Park Police PBA spent over 3,500 man hours in and around the World Trade Center site assisting in recovery efforts and providing information and guidance to the residents of lower Manhattan.

Our officers shuttled emergency personnel to and from the site in police boats and escorted residents back into their buildings to recover some of their belongings. They secured crime scene areas and guarded waterways, bridges and powerplants.

We will never forget that 2,830 people lost their lives at the World Trade Center site on September 11, 2001.
